Fresh Nude Sugar Lip Treatment [Review & Swatches]

Fresh Nude Sugar Lip Treatment Review

Fresh recently released a new Sugar Lip Treatment in Nude for Summer.  Since I own every fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, I had to have this one as well.  The Lip Treatments are great for those with perpetually dry lips like myself.

Fresh Nude Sugar Lip Treatment Ingredients

The front of the box has a lovely metallic design on it (points for packaging.)  The only ingredients listed on the box are for the SPF 15 Sunscreen.

The actual product comes in a sturdy metal tube that has a twist closure; This will not pop open in your purse.  All the shades in the fresh Sugar Lip Treatment range have packaging that corresponds to the product color and this one is no exception with its "nude" color.

Fresh Nude Sugar Lip Treatment Review

The fresh Sugar Lip Treatment is basically a lip balm with SPF 15.  Fresh Nude Sugar Lip Treatment is one of the tinted versions.  The color is a "sheer peachy beige shimmer tint."  I think that is a pretty accurate description.  Like all of the tinted fresh Sugar Lip Treatments it is sheer on the lips, so don't expect a lot of color especially if your lips are naturally pigmented like mine.  On my lips, this appears as a metallic peachy gold sheen rather than a true nude.  It does slightly lighten the color of my lips like a nude lipstick would making it a good compliment to a dark smokey eye.  Wear time for this product is around 1-2 hours.

Here is a closer shot to show you the texture of the product.  The fresh Nude Sugar Lip Treatment glides on smoothly and is slightly moisturizing on the lips.  I think that the micro-fine sugar crystals exfoliate the lips a little bit upon application making them feel more smooth.  One thing to note is that these products are very soft in the tube so be careful not to smoosh it all over your lips or it will break off.  Also, this product is heat sensitive so don't go leaving it in your car on a hot day or you will come back to a sticky nude puddle mess.

Fresh Nude Sugar Lip Treatment Swatches Review
I wanted to compare the fresh Nude Sugar Lip Treatment to some of the other colors in the range so you can see the difference.  I chose to compare it to the two colors that were the closest, fresh Honey Sugar Lip Treatment and fresh Petal Sugar Lip Treatment.  I also threw in another brand with a similar product, L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm in 818 Nourishing Nude, for perspective.  As you can see in the swatches above, fresh Nude Sugar Lip Treatment is different than all three of the other products.  I thought for sure it would be the same color as Nourishing Nude, but nope.  I wanted to do a lip swatch but my lips are seriously chapped right now and nobody needs to see that.  I might post an Instagram pic later when my lips heal.

Pros: smoothing, moisturizing, SPF

Cons: lacking in pigmentation

Final Thoughts:  I like this lip product a lot better than I thought I would;  I thought it was going to be too similar to other colors in the range.  It is a unique color in the fresh Sugar Lip Treatment range and in my collection.  I already love the formula and texture of these products and I think that this is a great addition to the line.  I feel like I will get a lot of use from it.

  1. I just bought this product yesterday and I love it. The only problem is that it does not show up much but i don't really mind that. The shimmer shows and it's hydrating so this is a plus.

    1. True it is not very pigmented, but I think this particular shade is meant to accentuate your natural lip color rather than being like a nude lipstick. Since it is a lip treatment first and a tint second I can overlook the lack of pigment. It also looks great in the Summer with bronzed skin for a naturally sun-kissed look.
