Revlon's Pacific Coast Collection

Revlon's The Pacific Coast Collection by Gucci Westmen for spring 2013 features cool tropical ocean hues and bright pinks for a sultry beach look.

Revlon describes the collection as "an irresistible island vibe accented with acidic color is the essence of Spring 2013. Inspired by sculptural sea glass with a touch of Tahitian glamour, the look if confident and fresh. Aspire to be both optimistic and desirable this season with exotic shades of the surf."

The Collection includes two Colorstay  16-Hour Eye Shadow compacts, four Colorburst Lip Butters, four Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamels, three Baby Sticks for lips & cheeks, and a Colorstay Creme Gel Eyeliner.  I did not purchase the nail polishes because they were all colors that I already own and are dupable.

The Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamels from this collection are:

Tradewinds - a nude beige

Seashell - a nude pink

Jungle - a deep emerald green

Sunburst - a burnt yellow-orange

580 Free Spirit quad contains four colors:

Tan, Black, Periwinkle, Cobalt

585 Sea Mist quad contains four colors:

Emerald, Teal, Peach, Aubergine

Revlon The Pacific Coast Lip Butters

The new lip butter shades are:

027 Juicy Papaya - an orange coral

047 Pink Lemonade - warm pastel pink

053 Sorbet - hot reddish pink

I already own many of the permanent lip butters and these three shades are perfect for summer. Lip Butters are pigmented and moisturizing and one of my favorite lip products. I hope that they continue to make them in more colors because I love 'em.

Revlon The Pacific Coast Baby Sticks

The new Baby Stick colors are:

Sunset - red coral

Tahitian - peachy pink

Pink Passion - dark medium pink

Stick blushes are not my cup of tea, whether cream or gel, because I have oily skin and this generally means a sheer and sticky application. These are supposed to give "a perfect flush of color and soft dewy finish with a non-sticky feel."  I highly doubt this because I have never used a product like this, including high-end products, that didn't feel sticky on the skin.  These are probably sheer and sticky on the lips too.  I am sure formulas are getting better but I have yet to find one that works for me.

The cream eyeliner in white is kind of an enigma because if you look at the website none of the "looks" from this collection actually show white eyeliner in the drawings. This is the first white cream eyeliner I have come across so I was very interested.

Revlon says: "The collection’s must-have “it” item for the season is a limited-edition Crème Gel Eyeliner in White Mist."

There are many of this type of eyeliner on the market but the size and shape of it reminds me of Lorac's eyeliners with the same kind of brush.  You pull the brush out of the top, flip it around, and clip it back into the base.  The makes for an awkward brush the does not feel sturdy to use.  I ended up just using the tip with the brush by itself.

This cream eyeliner does not have the most smooth application because you have to pat it on rather than smooth it on to get good coverage.  The brush stinks because it is too wide and frayed for precision application.  More product ended up on my lashes than my lid no matter how I tried to use it.  I ended up using my Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eyeliner brush to get the best application but it still looked patchy.

The color is a sheer white with a pink iridescent sheen to it.  While not as opaque as I would like, I do find that I like to wear it with just mascara on my eyes as something different.  The look is soft enough that I can see myself wearing it to the office and it does remind me of the beach.
