Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Sheer Glow Colour SPF 15

Yesterday I received my Chanel Les Beiges through free overnight shipping courtesy of Chanel and I jumped for joy because this is a product I have been excited for ever since it released in the UK.

The description for Chanel Les Beiges is as follows: "With an effortless touch, this innovative, versatile powder makeup enhances, brightens or bronzes the complexion for a custom glow. On its own, it heightens skin’s natural beauty; over foundation, provides a sheer, luminous finish. Advanced technology protects against skin-dulling environmental stressors, while White Rose and Cotton Flower offer absolute comfort for even the most sensitive complexions. In seven no-fail shades; each, with its own sculpted half-moon brush."

After reading reviews online from European and Asian beauty bloggers, I decided to choose the shade No. 20 because No. 30 seemed like it would be too dark. Right after I ordered the No. 20 I received the cutest baby sample compact of No. 40 which was not that much darker than my skin. So, I think No. 30 might have been a better fit for my light-medium tan skin tone.

The compact for Les Beiges is unique because it is tan and black rather than all black like most of Chanel's compacts.  As with all of Chanel's compacts, it came in a black velvet sleeve.

The half-moon brush sits on top of the powder on a black plastic separator.

The brush is very luxe with it's sturdy glossy black handle and super soft bristles. I would expect nothing less from Chanel.

There was a retractable kabuki brush offered with the Les Beiges release but it was $70 and I need another kabuki brush like I need a whole my head so I passed on it for now. It is supposed to be super soft and perfect for applying this product.

The powder is extremely finely milled and luxuriously soft. It is very sheer so don't expect this to be a powder foundation because it's not; It's a finishing powder. This has got to be the best finishing powder I have ever tried because it just makes my skin look amazing. It lives up to it's "healthy sheer glow" claim because it is sheer but it imparts a healthy glow without being too shiny or too matte. I love it!

So after testing both the No. 20 and the No. 40 on my face using the half-moon brush, I think that I will order the No. 30. The No. 40 gives me a nice sun-kissed look, without being too bronzery, and I am almost tempted to get a full size of it. The No. 20 is slightly too pale for me right now and I will probably get better use of it in the fall and winter when my skin loses its tan. I think that the No. 30 will be the best fit for me right now.
