OPI Pink of Hearts 2013

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month I thought I should do something to boost awareness, so I picked up this set by O.P.I.

This set is limited edition so scoop it up before it's gone.  It includes two nail polishes, ten pink ribbon decals and ten crystal decals. 

The two nail polishes in this set are (left to right): 

• More than a Glimmer (Limited Edition) - matte glitters in a milky pink base
• Pink-ing of You - pink crelly

The pink ribbons on the brush handles are removable plastic overlays.  I suggest removing them before use because they make gripping the handles difficult as they are slippery.

three coats of OPI Pink-ing of You over CND Sticky Base on all fingers, ring finger is topped with one coat of OPI More than a Glimmer, pointer and pinky have crystal decals, and middle has a pink ribbon decal, all except ring finger are topped with one coat of Seche Vite

Even with with three coats, I can still see the nail line through Pink-ing of You (barely, but it's there.)  It is hard to tell in this picture because of the way the light is hitting the nail, but More than a Glimmer has matte glitter.  I like the matte look, but you could add a top coat to make it shiny.

The crystal decals have sticky backs so they will adhere to the nail easily but  I still felt that I needed a top coat to seal them on because, I believe, they are removable?  I was able to remove them.  

Be careful when applying the ribbon decals because once they are on the nail you can not move them around without ruining the base coat of polish.  I managed to fix it, but when I put the top coat on the decal lifted up a little and bubbled at the edges.  Maybe I could have smoothed it on the nail better to prevent bubbles?

Overall, I really like this set and it has the potential for use beyond Breast Cancer Awareness.  It also makes a great gift for family members who are survivors or undergoing treatment.  I am planning on passing this along to my grandmother who is twice a survivor.
