Cover Girl Capitol Collection Glosstinis

Welcome to the 75th annual Hunger Games [nail polish collection]!

The second movie installment of the Hunger Games, Catching Fire, is being released in theatres and this year's cosmetics are brought to us by Cover Girl. There is a selection of spring/summer product re-promotes in a display featuring the Hunger Games along with a look-book to help you achieve makeup and nail art looks inspired by the 12 districts (there are only about 5 looks in the pamphlet.)

Cover Girl released as part of the "Capitol Collection" a limited edition set of "Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstinis" which are mini nail polishes and include 9 multi-glitter finishes in sheer colored bases.

I apologize in advance for not cleaning up the skin around my nails for the photos, but I was in a major hurry to get these done by today (I swatched all 9 last night and it took about 5 hours.)  Each swatch is two coats over CND Sticky Base.

600 Sulfur Blaze

Sulfur Blaze has a sheer yellow base with micro yellow and gold fleck throughout for a micro-glitter shimmer finish.

605 Flamed Out

Flamed Out has a sheer orange base with micro orange, yellow-gold, and copper fleck throughout for a micro-glitter shimmer finish.

610 Rogue Red

Rogue Red has a sheer tomato red base with micro red, orange, and gold fleck throughout for a micro-glitter shimmer finish.

615 Inferno

Inferno has a sheer berry-red base with micro magenta/pink, red, and gold fleck for a micro-glitter shimmer finish.

620 Pyro Pink

Pyro Pink has a sheer magenta base with micro magenta/pink and silver fleck for a micro-glitter shimmer finish.

625 Violet Flicker

Violet Flicker has a sheer violet base with micro purple, blue, and silver fleck for a micro-glitter shimmer finish.

630 Seared Bronze

Seared Bronze has a sheer bronze base with micro bronze, yellow-gold, and copper fleck for a micro-glitter shimmer finish.

635 Scalding Emerald

Scalding Emerald has a sheer olive-green base with micro green, gold, and copper fleck for a micro-glitter shimmer finish.

640 Black Heat

Black Heat has a semi-sheer charcoal base with micro olive-green, bronze, and black fleck for a micro-glitter shimmer finish.  This was the only one that just slightly stained my cuticles upon removal.

These Glosstinis may be minis, but they are still fairly good size. The brushes are the short-round style but application was pretty easy. You can remove the silver square cap to reveal a round ridged cap to grip for easier application (the silver caps are a bit slick and hard to grip.)

Overall, I am in love with this collection and I think it is perfect for the girl on fire (Katniss.) If I have time I will try and create a nail art look with this collection and feature it on my social networks.

These Glosstinis are a bit expensive for drugstore minis and retail for anywhere between $3.59 and $3.99 USD.
