Stevie looks like a moonlit night sky covered in mysterious foggy clouds.  The first coat was patchy, but it evens out with the second coat.  It seems like Julep reformulated their polishes because this has been a pretty consistent thing with application of their newest polishes.  The first coat of Stevie shows as more purple while the second coat looks more silvery grey.

Dahlia is quite sheer and you can see the nail tips under the polish. It looks like liquid gold and is very beautiful in sunlight. It had easy application and a thinner consistency than previous micro glitters.

Cleopatra is Julep's first "latex" finish nail polish. It really does have a rubbery texture feel to it. The first coat is thin and patchy, but evens out by the second coat. It goes on glossy but dries to a matte/rubbery finish.

Winona is not really my color or at least is not something I would pick out for myself. The first coat was thin and patchy, but evens out with second coat. I can picture wearing this color with a cozy sweater or to tone down a sparkly outfit.

Valerie is a lovely dark teal green with golden shimmer. It was easy to apply but because it is so dark it stains the cuticle area.

Anisa is red with a brown undertone. The first coat was thin and sticky/gloopy, but it evens out by the second coat. Because it is red, it stained my fingers; This is typical of red nail polishes.

Clara is probably my favorite out of this collection. It reminds me of a witch casting a spell on a moonlit night with the way the blue and purple colors shift in the light. It was easy to apply and the purple comes out brighter than it looks in the bottle; It is more of a raspberry color with blue-green shimmer.

Like Dahlia, Missy is sheer and glittery. The silver has a mirror shine effect. Application was easy with the thinner coats of polish.

Kendra looks dark grey at some light angles and olive at others. The first coat is thin, but evens out by the second.

two coats

Beatrix is a glitter topper with silver, black, holographic glitters and larger black and holographic hexagon glitters suspended in a clear base.  I found the best way to apply it was to glob it on and then smooth it around.  The second coat was easier to apply because the glitters would stick to the first coat so all I had to do was brush it on normally.

Casper is a glow in the dark polish.  It applied nice and even with both coats.  As a normal polish it has white and silver shimmery glitter for a ghostly look.  It glows green in the dark without the need for a black light.  Using this polish after Halloween, it looks like snow on the nails and could be used for a nice wintry nail look.

It took me a while to figure out how to take a photograph of glow-in-the dark nail polish.  I could not find any real definitive answers, but Chalkboard Nails tips helped the most.  After much trial and error, this is what I did to get this picture:

Using my DSLR and a 60mm Macro lens in Manual mode, I set the aperture to f2.5, the shutter speed to 1"3 or the slowest speed you can get from your camera to get the longest exposure, and the ISO at 6400.  I left my camera on and ready, then turned off all my room lights, but left the door open for ambient lighting (so you can see my hand.)  Using a black light, I charged my nails for about 60 seconds to get maximum glow then turned off that light and took the picture using the camera shutter button and not the remote switch.  For some reason when I used the remote it would not let the shutter stay open long enough to get the exposure.  The result is grainy, but you can see the glow-in-the dark polish.
