29 by Lydia Mondavi at Target

Target is currently renovating its beauty department (in select stores) to include new higher end brands. One of those brands is 29 by Lydia Mondavi. I went ahead and ordered some items that are sold online only so far.

From the Target website:

"29 by Lydia Mondavi combines the organic beauty of the Napa Valley and the exclusive Grape Seed Age Protecting™ formula which leaves your skin looking younger longer, with potent anti-oxidant power. Lydia Mondavi, of the legendary Napa Valley wine amily created 29 utilizing the powerful anti-oxidant power of grape seeds, a natural byproduct of the Mondavi family’s winemaking."

"29’s Grape Seed Age-Protecting™ formula captures the skin’s natural radiance by nourishing and protecting the skin with the potent power of anti-oxidants. “Grape seed extract is 50 times more efficient than Vitamin E and 20 times more efficient than Vitamin C as free radical scavengers. This super anti-oxidant neutralizes the destructive efforts of free radicals, protects the skin’s collagen for healthy elasticity and suppleness, and combats the signs of aging,” Mondavi states. 29 is pure, all natural, paraben free and contains no harsh sulfates, synthetic colors or fragrances."

"29 was inspired by the extraordinary beauty of California's Napa Valley and takes its name from the picturesque road that runs the length of this world-famous grape growing region - Highway 29."

Ah yes, I know that highway well. When I used to work in Saint Helena I drove on it everyday marveling at the views.

29 by Lydia Mondavi for Target Starter Kit
Starter Kit

The 29 Cosmetics Target line includes 11 skin care products and the Starter Kit so far on the Target website. Comparing these products to the regular line, the only differences I can see are in price and packaging. The Target packaging does not look as luxe as the originals and the prices are far lower than on the 29 website. For example, the 29 Serum Extract is $24.00 at Target and $175.00 on the website. Granted, the product names are a bit different, so I cannot say that they are the exact same product. It seems, that Lydia probably downgraded her products and packaging to make them more available to the masses as is typical with Target collaborations.

The Starter Kit seems to be a pretty good value at $35.00 for trial sizes of many of the products in this Target line.  I also purchased the 29 SPF 20 Wine Blot Lip Balm and the 29 First Crush Lip Scrub which are $10.00 each compared to $24.00 each on the website and they appear to be the exact same products.  I hope that Target adds more products from 29 by Lydia Mondavi because I am interested in trying the 29 Hint of Honey Lip Treatment.

I will do a more thorough review on these products once I receive them and test them out.

What do you think of these products?  Has anyone tried them yet?  I would love to know what you think in the comments.
