Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Skincare [Review]

Clinique Turnaround Skincare Review

A while back I received some deluxe samples of Clinique's new range to try out.  If you have been reading this blog then you know I love Clinique and that they rarely have a dud product.  So let's put my excitement over this new line aside and get right into it shall we?

The Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Skincare line was designed to boost skin radiance.  When we are young our cells turnover quickly making the surface of our skin more even so that it reflects light evenly which gives us our young healthy glow.  As we get older our cells slow down and have to work harder to turnover and the surface of the skin becomes more uneven which causes it to reflect light irregularly giving it a dull appearance.  This new skincare line by Clinique is designed to boost cell turnover making skin more even so that it reflects light better thus giving the skin a more youthful healthy glow.

Clinique skincare is always allergy tested and fragrance free. This skincare line claims to be suitable for all skin types. For reference, I have normal/combination skin that is acne-prone, more oily in the summer and more dry in the winter.

Clinique Turnaround Skincare Review

I wish I had taken pictures before using up the products, but c'est la vie.  The two moisturizers lasted me 2-3 weeks and as you can see from the photo above I still have over half of the bottle of the treatment oil left.

Clinique Turnaround Daytime Revitalizing Moisturizer (golden glow)

Lightweight, oil-free hydrator instantly delivers a fresh, luminous wide-awake glow. Wear alone, or under makeup.

This moisturizer contains micro-shimmer particles in yellow (warm) or pink (cool) depending on your skin tone preference to give the appearance of radiant skin.  I received a sample of the yellow which worked for me because my skin tone is neutral.  This product is more like a radiance primer than a moisturizer.  It is definitely not as moisturizing as the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief which is my holy grail moisturizer.  I ended up adding a couple of drops of the Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Oil to this and mixing them in order to get more moisture into my skin.  It works under makeup or on its own.  I liked wearing this on its own because it made my skin look healthy and radiant.  I don't know if I would purchase a full-size of this product because it was not moisturizing enough to be my daily moisturizer and it is not quite strong enough to be a radiance primer under makeup.  It pretty much disappears when I apply foundation over it.

Clinique Turnaround Overnight Revitalizing Moisturizer

Revitalizing moisture cream literally works overnight to reveal more luminous skin.

This moisturizer is supposed to be a nightcream of sorts. It is light enough for combination skin types and did not cause any acne.  This product provides a nice boost of moisture to keep skin hydrated through the night.  You can add the Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Oil on top of this if you need extra hydration.

Ingredients [from box]: Water\Aqua\Eau, Isostearyl Palmitate, Cetyl Ricinoleate, Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Squalane, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Arginine, Sigesbeckia Orientalis (St. Paul's Wort) Extract, Hordeum Vulgare (Barley) Extract\Extrait D'Orge, Castanea Sativa (Chestnut) Seed Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Yeast Extract\FAEX\Extrait De Levure, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, Trehalose, Salicylic Acid, Creatine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Lecithin, Propylene Glycol Dicaprate, Acetyl Glucosamine, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Petrolatum, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seedcake, Polysilicone-11, Tromethamine, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium RNA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glycerin, Phospholipids, Hexylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium Nadh, Micro-Coccus Lysate, Laurdimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Xanthan gum, Adenosine Phosphate, Carbomer, Ascorbyl Tocopheryl Maleate, PTFE, Nordihydroguaiaretic Acid, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Metabisulfite, Chlorphenesin, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol [ILN41081]

Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Treatment Oil

Silky-light oil nourishes skin back to healthy-looking radiance. Refines texture, too.

This facial oil is designed for combination skin types, so it is lightweight with a thinner consistency and runny texture.  A couple of drops is all you need to cover the face and neck each.  I really like this facial oil because it boosts the moisturizing properties of other moisturizers and does not cause acne.  You can also use it alone, but I find it works best when mixed with another moisturizer.

Ingredients [from box]: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Octyldodecanol, Dimethicone, Trisiloxane, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil Tricaprylin, Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Salicylic Acid, Oxycoccus Palustris (Cranberry) Seed Oil, Silybum Marianum Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phytosterols, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, BHT [ILN 41155]

Final Thoughts:  I like all three products and I feel that together they provide a comprehensive skin care system for combination skin types.  Unfortunately, as someone with combination skin that is chronically dehydrated, I feel that the Clinique Turnaround Daytime Revitalizing Moisturizer is just not moisturizing enough for my skin.  I do like the Clinique Turnaround Overnight Revitalizing Moisturizer as a nightcream and I love the Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Treatment Oil and will definitely be purchasing a full size.  Clinique did an excellent job with this skin care line.  I am curious about the other products in this line such as the facial serum.

  1. The only moisturizer I've tried from Clinique was the Moisture Surge and I loved it! Oh and the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+, too! They have so many skincare lines nowadays, though, and it gets a little overwhelming for me. This is a nice set to try out for sure!

    1. Clinique Moisture Surge is my holy grail moisturizer as it is the only one that works for my skin no matter it's current state. I have not tried the new Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ but I have heard good things :-)

    2. It's very very moisturizing! I also love the gel-like texture. Clinique gives out a sample all the time so maybe you'll get your hands on it some day! :)
